day 198: Music @ the Ceremony

{warning: this is a video heavy post!!}

It's a bazillion days later, and I'm getting back to my wedding recaps. {finally} I stopped because I was waiting for some pictures from my photographer. They have not had the best of luck with technology this 2011 year. Their SD cards and external hard drives have gotten corrupted causing them to lose precious memories. =[ Never fear though, I have all that I need! But, I'm not posting {very many} pictures today; I'm posting YouTube videos with our song choices!

We received so many compliments on the songs we chose for our ceremony that I have been busting at the seams to write this post. Why it has taken me so long, I don't know. I think it's worth the wait.

For our musical accompaniment, we had some "young-ins."  They are younger than Mr. GrapeJuice and I but supremely talented.

Our pianist is still in high school. Yes, you read that right. He's in high school!! I knew of him because I taught his younger brother a couple years ago, and he used to attend the school I teach at now. Below is a video of him playing piano and pvc at his high school talent show this year. {dear baby gods, when I have children, please let them be this talented. thanks!}

Our singer is in college now and is a close friend of ours. We met her brother in college and just adore the whole family! They are sweet as pie and so loving. And her voice...it's like butter! Yummy, melting butter. I just can't get enough of it!! I was so happy that she agreed to sing for us on our big day. It meant so much. Here's a sample song of her work. She's currently in Europe and blogging about her adventures. {check it out - here!}

Now that I've shown you the wonders that made our magical day that much more special. I want to share with you the songs that truly made our day unique. I can honestly say that I'm not a fan of Canon D. It's waaaaaay over done. My sister used it at her wedding, and just about every other wedding I've been to has used it too. Therefore, I wanted to be different! We were so "radical" in our music choices that even our pianist was shocked. He loved the choices but was taken aback by them for a Catholic church wedding.

For our processional of the grandparents, parents, bridesmaids, and groomsmen, we had our pianist play "At the Beginning" by Richard Marx and Donna Lewis {from the movie Anastasia}.

My processional song was "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz because that is our song. =]

The lighting of the unity candle song was the chorus of "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars.

The bride and groom recessional song was "All You Need is Love" by The Beatles.

The wedding party recessional song was "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas.

I hope you enjoyed our music as much as we did!! This is something I would never change about my wedding day. It was perfect, and I still love the compliments we got about it! =]

day 166: Survival

I survived my short stay in Insanityville!
Everything went smoothly and surprisingly well.
And, I'll be honest...I cried.
I cried because my first class that was all my own has "graduated" to first grade.
I didn't think I'd be that overwhelmed with emotion over something so small, but I know that they are going to be great at everything! I can't wait to see what they accomplish. {excuse me while I go grab some tissues!}
I can't believe the year is over. I worked my a** off, and finally got some credit from Mr. GrapeJuice about it. He told me I was one of the most passionate teachers he knows. Not that he knows very many, but it's still a compliment that I appreciate.

Now that I've survived the school year, I can get back to finally finishing up my wedding recaps!
I can't believe that I never did that. I was waiting to finish because we were missing some photographs, and we finally got those from our photographer back in March right before the honeymoon. But, life has gone at such a fast pace since then that I haven't had a chance to really recoup. So, look for my wedding recaps in the coming weeks.

I'll also be blogging all of my summer adventures!
We're going to wedding this weekend.
We're getting a new garage door installed.
We're going to New York for a family reunion.
I'm taking a class for more teaching certification.
I'm visiting my girls in North Carolina.
My neice is turning one.
My parents are getting a pool {finally after years of begging}!!!
My classroom is getting painted.
We're going to start eating healthier.
Mr. GrapeJuice and I are going to start working on a weekly blogging project.
I'm going to completely overhaul our house through cleaning, painting, landscaping, etc.!!!

It'll be busy to say the least...

day 26: Getting Ready (the boys)

So...I'm only a little late on this post.
And, you know, I don't really know what went down when the boys were getting ready. I was not privy to that information. So, I'll spare you my thoughts and just show you the pictures.

day 24: Getting Ready (the girls)

I debated for awhile where my girls and I should get ready on my wedding day.
I wasn't sure if I should reserve our wedding night hotel room the night before and stay there by myself, if we should get ready in one my girls' hotel rooms and risk Mr. GrapeJuice seeing me before I was all put together, if we should get ready at my house, or if we should get ready at my mother's house.
Ultimately, I decided that we should get ready at my mother's house. It had great light, and was big enough to accommodate all of us comfortably.

I started my day bright and early at 6 a.m.
Did I want to sleep in?
You bet I did!
I tried hard to go back to sleep that morning but just couldn't do it.
I resigned myself to facebook stalking for about 2 hours instead.
After that, I ran a couple of errands and then relaxed around the house until it was time to get beautified.

The girls started to show up around 1:30, and we began to celebrate my impending nuptials.
They brought me champagne, Panera pastries, and a strawberry smoothie.
Delicious!

Then, at 2:00 my MUA Amy Lynn showed up!
It was time to get down to business.
After finishing our makeup and hair, we chilled for a bit and then headed to the church to get ready. I helped my girls get ready, and then I got ready! I loved my dress and the sash. It was the second wedding purchase I made. {The first one was our uber cute champagne classes we got half off at Hobby Lobby the summer we got in engaged.} My shoes were fabulously blue with something old {my grandmother's clip on rhinestone earrings from high school used as shoe clips}. My necklace and earrings were sentimental and perfect {made by my grandmother}. And, my girls were beyond exceptional!

Up next...
the boys getting ready!
{look for it tomorrow}

day 22: Recaps on the Way

Mr. GrapeJuice and I received our professional wedding photos yesterday.
This means that I can now start working on all the recaps of our special day!
I still need to figure out the order in which I will do them and how I want to do them.
But, know they are on their way!!

day 10: Goodies

I think getting married is better than having your birthday and Christmas all in one day!
We got so many great gifts and were able to get so many nice things for our home because of our guests' wonderful generosity.

Here is a small view into what we got...
This I am most excited about! We got it at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It wasn't on our registry, but when I saw it, I had to have it. It's so awesomely soft!
{MicroDry Ultimate Luxury Memory Foam Bath Mat}
{Keurig Platinum Brewer}
We got some new cookware too.
{Storage Ottoman with two Bent-Wood Trays}

day 8: Desperate

I must admit that I am quite desperate to do recaps of the wedding day!
And, I'm quite desperate to see my photos!
But, I don't want to do my recaps without my photos. It just wouldn't be the same!

I'm not so good at this waiting game...

On the plus side, there should be some more sneak peeks this weekend,
AND, we're supposed to get some snow at the tail end of the weekend, which could possibly mean no school.

yay!
